Anchoring Class
Conducted by Progressive Rescue Solutions, Inc.; this course covers different types of anchoring techniques with hands-on anchoring scenarios. Topics covered: BFR’s, multipoint, load distributing, tensionless hitches, wrap and pull, pre-tensioned tie backs, as well as, change of directions and correct placement and securing edge protection. Multiple sites will be used. Multiple dynamometers will be used to help explain the loads generated. This course begins with a brief lecture, and then proceeds to the field where multiple anchoring scenarios will be conducted and students will construct the correct anchoring system.
Note: No rescues will be performed as the entire course will be devoted to safe and efficient anchoring.
Student Requirements:Background in rope rescue. Highly recommend completion of Rope Rescue Operations. Students should bring appropriate clothing for weather conditions (i.e. rain, cold), a tight fitting pair of leather gloves, boots to protect ankles, protection for eyes, as well as provide your own food and drinks.
PRS, Inc.: Will provide all gear in order to conduct the class. A letter of confirmation along with directions upon registration & payment for class will be sent to student.
Certifications: PRS, Inc. will provide a certificate of completion.
