Group Rappelling and Rope Ascending: This program is conducted by Mountain Rope Safety Courses (MRSC) and is open to the general public. It is for those people who may just want to take friends, family, corporate personnel, youth groups or scouts for a fun day outdoors. Some groups like to go for the 8 hour trip which includes hiking to a bluff line, learning to rappel down a cliff and then trying to ascend up back up a bluff on a rope! MRSC uses a separate rope for safety so participants can feel a little safer while enjoying these activities. Each participant will have to bring their own food and water for the day. Other groups like to rappel off the 30 ft. steel deck and try climbing back up on a rope or ascend the rope. These activities are held on site and require no hiking to a bluff line therefore require less time than the 8 hour trip. Participate Requirements: Please wear appropriate clothing for weather conditions (i.e. cold weather bring warm clothing). Bring tight fitting leather type gloves, boots to protect ankles, knee pads and elbow pads are suggested. Bring your own food and water in a small day pack. Participants under 18 years of age must have parent/guardian sign assumption of liability release before being allowed to participate in activities! Please inform MRSC so we can fax forms to those youth groups or scouts before arriving and bring those forms with you or mail them prior to attending. Don’t forget your camera! Physical Requirements: You must be able to walk up and down steep mountainous terrain and carry equipment. Mountain Rope Safety Courses: MRSC will provide all helmets, harnesses and all rope equipment for these trips.
