Tower/Antenna Rescue:
This class has been designed to meet the requests from departments for a simple solution to tower/antenna rescues. We will begin with a review of the 1926.500-503 OSHA standard for fall protection. In addition, the OSHS approved equipment to do the rescues will be discussed in detail. There will be a review of rope rescue equipment, anchoring, knots, mechanical advantage systems and patient packaging. We will then progress to multiple scenarios designed to test the limits of both the students’ knowledge and ability to deal with adverse situations. This class will be both physically and mentally demanding so please come prepared.
Student requirements: Students must have completed Rope Rescue Operations. Students should bring appropriate clothing for weather conditions (i.e. rain, cold), a tight fitting pair of leather gloves, boots to protect ankles, protection for eyes, knee knee pads, elbow pads and be ready for a great deal of physical activities, as well as provide your own food and drinks. .
PRS,Inc.: Will provide all harnesses, helmets, lights, handouts, Prusik material, ropes, webbing and all other gear in order to conduct the class. Students are welcome to bring their own equipment but it must be approved by the instructor before it can be used in in class. A letter of confirmation along with directions upon registration & payment for class will be sent to student.
Certification: PRS, Inc. will provide a certificate of completion and 1 C.E.U. upon completion of the class.
